FAQs - Birth Photography

What if my birth happens quickly or in the middle of the night?

I’m on-call for your birth 24/7 from 38 weeks. I ask that you keep me updated as things progress—even during the night—so I can prepare and be ready. As soon as you feel like you need me, I’ll get on my way without delay, no matter the time of day or what I’m doing. Birth is unpredictable, so staying in touch helps me make sure I don’t miss those important first moments.

What if the hospital or birth center has restrictions?

I always encourage you to check with your care team early. Most hospitals allow birth photographers, especially if they know in advance.

Will the photos be too graphic?

Not unless you want them to be. My focus is on emotion, connection, and story. You decide what you’re comfortable with, and I’ll honor that.

What if I need a C-section?

If photography is allowed in the OR, I’ll be there. If not, I’ll stay close by and document everything before and after—your partner’s emotions, first cuddles, and those tiny first moments.
